A loose handle was doomed to a climbing on Friday morning on a tour on the southwest side of the Traunstein: The 30-year-old was traveling with her boyfriend (31) in the medium-difficult route “hourglass paradise” when the accident occurred at a sea level of 750 meters. The tour in the upper fourth to lower fifth degrees is described on a popular climbing portal as “very nice pleasure climbing in the solid, well -gripped rock with an oversupply of hourglass”.
The woman from Maria Neustift rose the fourth rope length, her friend secured the stand. When looking for the first safety hook, the 30-year-old caught a loose grip about six to eight meters above the stand. The rock, on which she had held up with both hands, broke out, the athlete lost the hold and crashed about 15 meters before she got stuck in the rope.
