The LASK played 48 competitive games three times in the Rosa -colored dress last season – most recently in Hartberg in April. On the banner, the fan core demands the colors “which gave us the founding fathers”.

“Separated in the colors, united in the matter.” Football fans use this sentence if they fight for a common thing across clubs. In Upper Austria it runs the other way around: “United in the color, separated in the matter.” The color is the pink of the water supply BWT, the clubs are the Bundesliga club Lask and SV Oberbank Ried.

BwT, global corporation with its headquarters in Mondsee, has been playing the double pass with the LASK since 2019. It is not only the sponsor contribution that makes the black and white fluid: in the newly built Raiffeisen-Arena, the BWT preparation technologies are installed. Since the Kick in the Bundesliga, local rival Ried Rosa in: Before returning to the upper house, the home had been renamed the “BWT X Oberösterreichische Arena” last week.

A foul? It is not unusual for a company to support two or more football clubs. But it was interesting what BWT managing director Andreas Weißenbacher At the presentation in Ried without being asked about the LASK: “The fact that the pink does not always stand for what it actually stands for worldwide is a different story.”

In Formula 1, Alpine drives on to BWT, the Mondseer appear in the Ski World Cup and ski jumping-to spread the pink message to make the world a bit cleaner. The LASK tried a lot to make Rosa a fashion color and offer BWT an advertising space. In the meantime, the water supplier even performed as a supplier because only a large sponsor may be represented in the European Cup on the jersey – and the logo of the supplier.

The organized LASK fan scene was not able to start with pink, although among other things, the entry of the global corporation at the Bundesliga club Linz had made a lot possible. In 2013 the club still played in the regional league and was without home, on Friday a week ago the opening game of the Bundesliga rose in the Raiffeisen Arena, in which the athletics established themselves as the top club. The club has acquired the Lask-Platz once sold out of money, developed talents in their own academy and has made a training center from the agent-time home-like home in Pasching.

“Cooperation is good”

Constant side effects were protests by the hard fan core against pink dresses in which the LASK played in just a few games per season-and against everything else that was heard. The reason: an exuberant influence of a sponsor on the club was suspected – and constantly progressive coloring. The fact that in the association’s statutes under §3 it says that the club colors are black and white and that the club badge should “not be buried” (as well as repeated confession of the leadership on both points) was not enough for the fan hardliners. The trailer scene is also currently protesting and is taking a mood boycott due to many additional reasons. The idea behind the refused support is that the sponsors LASK managing director Siegmund Gruber at least force to change the course. In this case, the influence of the sponsors is desirable, but that’s a different story.
