For the fourth and last time, the “Kaisermania” on the Dresden bank of the Elbe took place on Saturday evening. Schlager singer Roland Kaiser (72) not only inspires his numerous fans on site, but also the spectators at home in front of the TV screens: Because the hit show was broadcast live on the MDR. However, this presented the organizers before both optical and acoustic problems.

Fans complained about the poor sound quality on television on social media. The sound was “tinny” and “underground”, according to the audience. It was only readjusted from the second half. Organizer Semmel Concerts has now publicly commented on the criticism. “In the meantime, with our partner MDR, we have found that technical errors that we currently analyze happened during the transmission of sound,” says the statement. In general, a live broadcast represents a special challenge. “Hardly any national or international artist still allows a concert to be played live on the linear TV at the same time without any post-processing,” continued the organizer.
Strict clothing regulations
As far as the optical is concerned, the hit star revealed before the show that the TV transmission would bring unexpected restrictions: the stage outfits-mostly a chic three-part, including a tie and pocket cloth-are actually planned meticulously. For television, however, we have to do without white and checkered. There is a good reason for this: white reflects under stage light so strongly that it seems overexposed in the TV camera. Fine karos also create the Moiré effect, in which the pattern on the screen flickers restlessly.
