A positive mood in front of the Rieder Messe with more than 500 exhibitors

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected from 4 to September 7th at the big Rieder Messe.

The Rieder Volksfest with a large marquee and amusement park is open with free admission from August 28th to 31st and from September 4th to September 7th.

The Rieder Mass was founded in 1867. 158 years later, trade fair director Helmut Slezak is very satisfied with the current situation three and a half weeks before the large agricultural and autumn mass from September 4th to 7th. “We have more than 500 exhibitors from a total of twelve nations. The visitor trend has so far been very positive this year. Hopefully this will continue,” says Slezak, who has headed the business at the Ried trade fair since 2005. The exhibition area for the agricultural fair and the Rieder Volksfest, which also opens up free of admission from 28 to August 31, is more than 140,000 square meters. The OÖN are again there as a media partner.

“Guests can look forward to a great program. A visit to us is also suitable as a perfect holiday day for the whole family,” says Slezak, who describes the Rieder Messe as an important meeting point for agriculture, politics and business. The opening on September 4th by Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP). “The preparation of the fair is a challenging task that is a lot of fun. The anticipation is great,” says Fabian Berneder, project manager of the Rieder Messe.

The preparations are also in full swing at the Fleckviehzuchtverband Inn- und Hausruckviertel (FIH). For the FIH native to the exhibition center, it is a real “home game”, as has been the case for around 100 years. “After there were right worries about the spread of the mouth and claw disease in spring, we look at the upcoming young cow and young breeding exhibition with confidence and anticipation. In Upper Austria, all companies are disclosure-free,” says FIH managing director Josef Miesenberger. The highlight in the FIH animal rara will be the elite auction on Saturday. In total, more than 100 breeding cattle of all breeds from Upper Austria and Salzburg will be shown.

This year the “Schmidt’s Weyland-Steiner Handwerkswelt” celebrates a premiere in Hall 8. Around 30 partner companies of Schmidt’s Weyland-Steiner from various areas, including handicraft technology, door systems, and of course agriculture are presented on around 800 square meters. “We have been represented at the Rieder Messe for decades. For us, personal contact at eye level is still very important. In Hall 8 you can try everything out online,” says Harald Lechner from Schmidt’s Weyland-Steiner management. As with the past autumn fairs, the Rieder Panzer Grenadier Battalion 13 will present itself again this year in the area of the FACC Sky Dome. Your own marksmanship can be tested, among other things, with a shooting simulator. There are demonstrations daily at 10.30 a.m., 1.30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. “Of course you can also find out about the different professions. We are looking for women and men in different areas,” says Lieutenant Colonel Franz Zagerbauer, deputy Rieder Battalion Commandant.
