It has now been more than two years since the last event took place in the basement theater in the gym. But because mental health as well as physical health should no longer be neglected, the grammar school decided to serve a concert as spiritual nourishment in order to satisfy the worst hunger until the long-awaited “everyday normality” could be returned to.
Duo in the music school hall
However, the ingredients are by no means commonplace: with the trumpeter Manfred Paul Weinberger and the cellist Stephan Braun, two gifted musicians cook an extra fine jazz soup with compositional ingenuity, passionate interpretation, amazing playfulness and calm virtuosity. You can enjoy this on March 9th in the hall of the Rohrbach music school.
Rehearsed team
For 17 years now, the two have been playing together regularly in different projects, creating a solid basis of artistic trust and thus naming their latest CD “Confidence” accordingly. They deliberately chose the fragile formation of the duo in order to express their musical journey together in their music, the quality of which thrives on the transparency and intimacy of the instrumental dialogue. Instead of complex arrangements of large formations, the statement of the compositions is repeatedly rewritten in the duo in the creative process of interpretation through subtle and mutual scrutiny.
This time, the theater team is still inviting people to the Rohrbach music school for reasons of reasonableness related to the pandemic, but there will also be performances in the basement theater again in the foreseeable future.
