Israeli missile strikes reported in Syria

Israel launched a series of strikes on the territory of the Syrian province of Al Quneitra using ground-to-ground missiles. This was announced on Wednesday, February 23, by the Syrian agency SANA, citing a military source.

It is noted that the shelling was carried out from the occupied Golan Heights and led to material damage.

Earlier, on February 17, Israel fired surface-to-surface missiles at Syrian targets south of Damascus. No casualties or deaths were reported.

On February 9, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that from the region of the occupied Golan Heights, the Israel Defense Forces launched a strike with 10 surface-to-surface missiles at the positions of the Syrian air defense forces. One Syrian soldier was killed and five wounded.

Later that day, Russian-made Syrian air defenses destroyed eight missiles fired by Israel.

On the night of February 9, Syrian air defenses repelled an air attack in the skies over Damascus. Social media users circulated videos showing footage of the incident.

At the end of December, the Syrian side reported several air attacks. One of them was made on December 31 from Riyak, east of Beirut, at some points in the vicinity of Damascus.

In addition, on December 28, Syrian air defenses repelled an Israeli attack on the commercial port of Latakia. An Israeli attack hit the port’s container yard, causing extensive property damage and a fire.
