The authorities of Donetsk revealed the details of the explosion

The explosion that thundered on Wednesday, February 23, in the territory of Donetsk, occurred near the television center, Acting Minister of Information of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Daniil Bezsonov told reporters.

According to him, an explosive device went off, most likely home-made, without damaging elements.

“But there was a considerable amount of an explosive device, a funnel remained at the site of the explosion,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Bezsonov also indicated that he regards the incident as an attempt to intimidate journalists and does not rule out subsequent terrorist attacks.

“At 00:50 there was an explosion on the territory of the television center. I was there at that moment. It exploded well, the glass flew out all over the building. No harm done. There were people in the building, but none of them were hurt. The explosion occurred not inside, but outside the television center. Looks like someone threw it into the yard, ”said the guard Anatoly.

Earlier in the day, the Donetsk News Agency reported that “the sound of the explosion was clearly audible, in particular, in the central Voroshilovsky district of the city and the front-line Kievsky district adjacent to it from the north.”

On the night of February 23, Ukrainian security forces fired shells in the direction of the village of Kominternovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).

In addition, on February 21, Ukraine shelled the village of Kominternovo in the Donbass. In this case, 14 shells with a caliber of 122 mm, prohibited by the Minsk agreements, were used.

The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that over the past few days, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have significantly intensified and brought the situation in the region to a critical state.

Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been conducting a military operation against the inhabitants of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the intra-Ukrainian conflict.
