On September 13, 2025, Gustav Mahler’s 5th Symphony is an important work of late romanticism, interpreted by the Saxon State Chapel Dresden under the direction of Daniele Gatti. The work is considered the turning point in the work of the composer – characterized by personal crisis, stylistic reorientation and emotional depth. The fourth sentence, the Adagietto, which Luchino Visconti used in his film adaptation of Thomas Mann’s novella, used death in Venice (1971).
Tōru Takemitsus Requiem for string orchestra, which will also be performed, marked the international breakthrough of the Japanese composer and combines influences of western avant -garde with elements of traditional Japanese music.
