Forest fires took 362,473 hectares in Spain Between August 1 and 21, according to data from the Forest Fire Information System of the European Commission (EFFIS) of Copernicus. Impact on protected ecosystems and species

97% of the affected surface corresponds to large forest fires. Of the burned hectares, about 140,000 correspond to surface Woodedwhile approximately 160,000 hectares belong to Protected Natural Spaces and Natura 2000 Red.
