Theme-specific workshops, career counseling and orientation as well as the support in the search for training and further education: The offer of the Institute for Education and employment advice, which is promoted by the labor market service (AMS), is diverse. One of the many locations in Upper Austria is located in Schärding. There, the need for the consultations is still “definitely”, says Jutta Pöchersdorfer-Stöger, head of the IAB in Schärding since the beginning of this year. “Many people have the feeling that they want to change something professionally, but do not know exactly how to start. We put on right there,” says Pöchersdorfer-Stöger.
One of the many options that the site manager particularly emphasizes is “open advice”. It offers everyone interested once a week – every Monday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – a free, personal and non -binding orientation aid. Regardless of whether you are at the beginning of the professional career, in a phase of reorientation or looking for a new job. In an open framework, the IAB consultants support the participants with expertise and practical tips.
The content of the advice ranges from orientation talks to help for applications and information on training and further education opportunities. “Even if the offer of open advice is already very well received, we would like to force it even more because it still appeals to many people,” says Pöchersdorfer-Stöger.
