The church had reached its goal after two days.

It was built by Gustaf Wickman in 1912 based on the shape of a tent of the seeds, the indigenous people in the region, is 40 meters wide, 672 tons heavy and combines various architectural styles. Inside it is decorated with motifs that are also inspired by the seeds: the wooden church of Kiruna. Her move has recently become a mass spectacle in Sweden and has also been shown live on television.

Kiruna is Sweden’s northernmost city. One of the largest iron ore mines in Europe is also located there. This has always been expanded in depth in recent years, which makes the move of the entire city necessary. Because the soil has become unstable in places, there is a risk of collapse. For this reason, parts of the city have been moved with around 18,000 inhabitants for years, including 23,000 cultural monuments. The decision to move in 2007 was made.
