On August 30th, Warren Buffett celebrates his 95th birthday with Warren Buffett. His holding company Berkshire Hathaway is one of the largest listed corporations worldwide. Originally founded as a textile company, Buffett transformed the company together with his friend Charles Munger, who died in 2023, into an investment company. He has headed the company since 1965, and today 13.8 percent of the stocks still belong to him.
More than 80 companies are owned by Berkshire, there are important participations in Coca-Cola and Apple. The strategy – buy shares when others sell in panic, keep company values for a long time and no risky speculation – paid off. The focus of business activities is in the insurance business. The holding itself employs fewer than 30 people.
