A neighbor called the police Wednesday afternoon after hearing loud howling for hours. When officers paid a visit to the 28-year-old, they discovered the emaciated, fecal-covered cub tied on a leash so short that it could barely move or lie down, police said.
The woman said she bought the six-month-old dog from a private individual four weeks ago. Since then he has had diarrhea. She has been to the vet twice. Since the mongrel’s health did not improve, she chained him to the balcony during the day.
“Words fail us,” says the ICARA animal rescue service, which describes the shocking conditions on site on its Facebook page. “When we untied the little guy from the chain, we were literally almost knocked over by the little one’s love. He jumped at us overjoyed and was grateful for any form of affection,” the animal rescuers continue to report. The dog was taken to the animal shelter. After the veterinary report was received, the owner would be reported, the police said on Thursday afternoon.
