The “Health Offensive”, an association of the Chamber of Labour, the Chamber of Physicians and the trade unions in the health and long-term care sector, had called for the protest. This initiative calls for good working conditions and fair pay for all employees in the health and long-term care sector.
“With the citizens’ initiative, we are showing the number of people who support the demands of health workers in Austria,” said Christian Erlinger, Chair of the Works Council of the Rohrbach Clinic, and his deputy Veronika Ernst. “We at the Rohrbach Clinic also urgently need midwives, radiological technologists, nursing staff, doctors and reinforcements in technology, kitchen, administration and cleaning in order to be able to maintain hospital operations. Posts cannot be filled at the moment. That’s why we support the citizens’ initiative.”
Yesterday, the clinic staff also appealed to the population in the Rohrbach district to sign for the “Offensive Gesundheit” citizens’ initiative.
