Two people have died violently in Vienna since Wednesday. In both cases, the police are investigating murder. A 38-year-old man with gunshot wounds was discovered on Wednesday evening in Vienna-Favoriten. He was hit in the front with a sharp handgun, the professional rescue service took the man to the hospital while resuscitation was ongoing. There he succumbed to his severe injuries. The bloody deed was reported by a witness to the police emergency call. The officials are currently investigating in the environment of the Turkish-born man.

The next major police operation took place on Thursday morning – this time in the Hietzing district. A 54-year-old man is suspected of killing his 57-year-old wife. The man himself was found motionless by the police next to the dead man – he was taken to a hospital.
The 54-year-old is said to have previously called his daughter and announced “that he would kill his wife and then himself”. The cause of the woman’s death was still unclear, but strangulation marks were found on her neck. A connection with a serious illness of the man is suspected, according to the police. A farewell letter has not yet been found.
