Austria supports Ukraine with medical supplies. Five trucks with material needed for operations – such as plastic gloves, goggles and disinfectants – would drive from Schwechat to Ukraine on Friday, the Ö1 “Morgenjournal” reported on Friday, citing the Ministry of the Interior. This was requested by Ukraine. The value of the goods was estimated at 200,000 euros.
Talks in case of a wave of refugees
Austria is also ready to help countries like Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania to take care of war refugees. According to the Ministry of the Interior, one is still waiting to see what these countries are requesting. Support from tents, containers or generators is expected. So far nothing has been requested. In the event that war refugees from Ukraine come to Austria, there are already talks with the federal states and aid organizations, for example about possible quarters.
