500 square meters for financial education and a better understanding of economic relationships: Sparkasse plans a Financial Life Park in the Linzerie (short: flip). In November, the construction work on the first floor – at the location was a fashion business at the location. The opening is planned for May 2026.
Sparkasse Oberösterreich is investing 1.7 million in the renovation, the running costs are borne by the owners of the Sparkasse (shareholder administration). The offer is free of charge and ad -free, says Stefanie Christina Huber, General Director of Sparkasse Oberösterreich.
One is aimed at students aged 10 to 18 who can do a two -hour tour in the flip. The interactive program has been scientifically examined and should make financial education tangible. “The responsible handling of money and the associated financial education is an essential part of social participation and a self -determined life for everyone,” says Huber.
Too little financial education in schools
Central topics in the flip are, for example, budget planning or how decisions from consumers have an impact. There should also be discussion rounds. The young people are guided by specially trained employees. “We talk about money – open, honest and age -appropriate,” says Sabine Spiess, managing director of the flip. There has been a similar concept in Vienna since 2016.
