The Briton found a rare coin worth £10,000 (more than 1.1 million rubles). This was reported on February 24 by the Daily Mail newspaper.
Mark Pallett found an ancient shilling in a field near the village of Haslingfield, where he went with a metal detector.
The coin also bears the name Crispus and dates back to the 7th century. They were made on the model of ancient Roman coins of the 4th century.
The coin will be put up for auction, the auction will take place on March 8. Income will be divided equally between Mark Pallett and the landowner on whose land the artifact was discovered, NSN notes.
In September last year, a resident of Sussex in the UK discovered secret tunnels with ancient artifacts under his house. According to the owner, these spaces provided “inconspicuous” movement around the house for servants in the 1800s. The Briton, in particular, discovered various household items, old desks and school textbooks that were used at the beginning of the last century. The building once housed an educational institution.
