This kept the damage to Piatri in the World Cup duel with Norris, the Australian now leads 25 points in front of the British after the 17th out of 24 season races. The error-free Verstappen, which reported back in the World Cup fight with a deficit of 69 points, drove to his 67th Grand Prix victory and the second in a row to Monza. In the end, the defending champion had a lead of almost 15 seconds to Russell. “An incredible race, on fire!” Verstappen sparked the box satisfied.

Sick russell cheered over Stockerl
Russell had had to cancel his media dates on Thursday because of an illness, and the Brit was still coughing on Sunday. Despite the health handicap, he improved by three positions in the race. “It was a difficult weekend for me personally, I wasn’t quite fit. I was so happy when I saw the checkered flag. I’m looking forward to a little relaxation now,” said Russell. Sainz was euphoric since his first major sense of achievement since moving from Ferrari to Williams. “It feels even better than the first podium of my career,” emphasized the Spaniard.
Mercedes-Rokie Kimi Antonelli was fourth in front of Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson. Yuki Tsunoda was able to look forward to his best seasonal result in the second Red Bull. Ferrari drove after a failed qualifying, Lewis Hamilton took eighth place directly in front of Charles Leclerc. McLaren also missed on the city course on the Caspian Sea of fixing the constructor title prematurely. The next chance will be available in two weeks at the Singapore Grand Prix.
Rare Piatri-Patzer
In chaotic qualifying the day before with six red flags, Verstappen had secured the first place in Baku for the first time in Baku. Behind it went into the race, Norris (7) and last year’s winner Piatri (9) had a catch -up in front of them. In contrast to his direct competition, Verstappen chose the toughest tire mixture and easily defended the top position. Behind it, Piatri missed his start, fell back to the end of the field and shortly afterwards, as if it were already the day before, slowed down into the wall. For the Australian, a series of 34 Grands Prix and six sprints ended in the points.
