The Czech citizens were 26, 39 and 58 years old. A car driven by a 32-year-old Czech had collided at an intersection with a semi-trailer truck driven by a 19-year-old. The chauffeur is also Czech.
According to the police, the driver had ignored a stop sign at an intersection. The car was hit by the heavy vehicle and thrown into a field. The four car occupants were freed from the wreck by other road users. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the three passengers died at the scene of the accident. The 32-year-old was taken to Horn State Hospital with injuries. The truck driver was not injured. According to the police, the accident area was closed to all vehicle traffic for three hours.
