At 4:15 p.m., the three fire brigades Redl, Baumgaring and Gampers were alerted to a traffic accident with personal rescue. “Due to the force of the impact, it tore the engine out of one of the two accident cars,” reports operations manager and fire brigade commander Franz Schausberger.

According to Schausberger, a woman and a man may have been injured in the accident. While the man was able to leave his vehicle independently after the accident, the wife had to be freed from the vehicle by the fire brigade. “Thank God we quickly got her out of the car. When we liberated her, the woman was available,” says Schausberger. As the Red Cross confirmed, both people were brought to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vöcklabruck, one of them with serious injuries.
The assignment could be ended after about three hours, and about thirty to forty forces from the fire brigade, as well as the police, the Red Cross and an emergency helicopter were involved.
