Corona: Compulsory testing for state employees in Burgenland is falling again

A corresponding regulation by Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) was published on Friday. However, the nationwide 3G rule in the workplace still applies. Due to the Omicron wave that has been building up since the beginning of January, employees have had to undergo mandatory tests before starting work. This is now gone as of Monday.

However, proof of a test is still necessary for starting work in hospitals or nursing homes, for example. Employees must present a negative antigen test that is not older than 48 hours and proof of a negative PCR test twice a week. This must not be older than 72 hours for persons with 2G proof and no older than 48 hours for persons without 2G proof.

Visitors to hospitals or homes are only admitted with 2G proof and a negative PCR test that is not older than 48 hours. The nationwide exceptions apply, for example when accompanying minors, in the event of a birth or as part of hospice care.

In Burgenland, the coronavirus coordination staff reported 795 new infections and one death on Saturday. 90 patients were in hospital treatment, five of them in the intensive care unit.
