“Sadically we live in a time of skepticism and interest in science,” says Stefan Koch, the rector of the Johannes Kepler University (JKU).
It is more drastically formulating Andre Zogholy, Vice -Rector of the Linz Art University: He also sees starking hostility to universities, as is shown in the USA, where President Donald Trump covers universities with millions. This development has to counter.
Koch and Zogholy derive an order from this: “To take science in society, make it tangible” and show “what contribution she makes in daily life,” as Koch says. The universities are cooperating this year, for example, with the dance project “Living Worlds of Criminal Young People” (November 3 in the Kepler Salon), the bridge builds between the general public and young people who have already been pushed to the edge.
