A greener is currently worried about a break with the “Vranitzky doctrine”, i.e. the decision of the SPÖ, which has been excluding a collaboration between the Reds and the FPÖ for almost 40 years. Stefan Kaineder, green state spokesman in Upper Austria, accused the SPÖ a “real love affair” with the freedom in today’s press conference.
The reason for concern would Kaineder primarily give the statements of red state party leader. The designated successor to Carinthia’s governor Peter Kaiser, Daniel Fellner, only recently saw the freedom “in many approaches as partners”, which he does not categorically exclude. Similar developments come from Kaineder in Salzburg, where the Social Democrats would approach the freedom.
Kaineder also wanted to address the new SP state chief Martin Winkler, who does not want to “rule out 100 percent” a coalition with the blue, as he said in the OÖN summer discussion. Winkler must be aware of “that if you stop the FP a door, it will go through it.”
If the SP is now a possible second coalition partner next to the People’s Party for party leader Manfred Haimbuchner, suddenly he has far more weight in negotiations to get his positions. “And it was only at the weekend at Herbert Kickl’s speech at the federal party conference how far the FPÖ wants to go – there is also the will to destroy democratic structures.” Winkler must understand that there is “only one FPÖ” and no more moderate offshoot in Upper Austria.
“Enough of teaching culture”
The answer from the Social Democrats was not long in coming. SP state managing director Nicole Trudenberger accused Kaineder not yet being over the loss of its core topic, wind power and sustainable energy. Winkler now brings “fresh wind” in this. Rather, Kaineder does not treat Winkler to success.
