Thousands of island visitors were affected by the heavy rain – according to media reports, the water was partly chest -high. On videos you can see how tourists slowly went through the flooded streets with suitcases. The access road to the airport was still partially closed on Wednesday, as the TV station RTVE reported.
An incident occurred in Ibiza city. Three people were slightly injured in a rock fall at a hotel in Eivissa, as the newspaper “Periódico de Ibiza” reported. Around 220 other guests were evacuated and placed in another facility.

The fire brigade, police and emergency services were in constant use. In total, the authorities recorded almost 200 weather-related incidents on Tuesday, including floods, landslides, fallen trees and damaged water and power lines. The emergency services had to free people who were enclosed in cars and apartments.
