They have been married since 1973. But in art they go “strictly separate” paths, as Alois Riedl once told the OÖN. The Linz Castle Museum does justice to this professional arrangement by the Innviertel couple, who shape the local art scene from Brunnenthal (Schärding district). The Riedls’ work can be experienced from October 9th in two separate areas of the White Cubes, which opened in March, those windowless, white-painted rooms that make the colors and linework appear particularly intense.
Curated by Inga Kleinknecht, the solo show “Untitled” first immerses you in the picturesque world of Alois Riedl, who celebrated his 90s this year. His large formats from the 1970s and 1980s dominate.
