This emerges from a current parliamentary question answer by Interior Minister Gerhard Karner (ÖVP). For the Greens, who made the request, this shows once again that the operation at the anti-fascist camp at Peršmanhof, which also houses a memorial, was “completely disproportionate”.

According to the Interior Ministry, a total of 20 emergency services were involved in the four-hour large-scale operation – from the Carinthia State Police Directorate, the Völkermarkt District Authority and the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum. This means that there was one police officer for every five people who were treated by officials. Planning, preparation, implementation and follow-up of the police operation required a total of almost 332 hours of service. The total cost is 14,727 euros – 1,241 euros of which was spent on the use of the police helicopter.
Green places “megalomania”
The Greens are massively critical of the use of resources. The contingent doesn’t look like responsible operational planning, “but rather like complete megalomania,” said ethnic group spokeswoman and Carinthian state spokeswoman Olga Voglauer in a broadcast on Thursday. The Green Party’s commemoration policy spokesman Lukas Hammer criticized the move by the State Office for State Security and Combating Extremism after indications of administrative violations to be particularly incomprehensible.
