The body of the deceased was found mummified around dead pigeons in the middle of garbage remains.
Upon a neighbor’s complaint due to a leak in the roof, a group of firefighters entered an apartment in Valencia, Spain and they found the body of the inhabitant died 15 years ago.
Antonio Famoso’s body was found in the middle of a garbage dump, in his bed, with remains of food and dead pigeons around.
According to the Spanish press, the man who was retired and had been estranged from his two children for a long time, “was in an advanced phase of decomposition, mummified”.
A neighbor of the building said that “when we stopped seeing it we thought it was in a nursing home, and“He was a very polite man who didn’t mess with anyone.”
The case is being investigated as a natural death. As his death was unknown, the Spain’s Social Security continued to pay the pension retirement during the 15 years, so all services such as electricity and water were debited from the money in their favor.
