Seven injured in school bus crash

There was no nice start to school after the semester break for the passengers of the school bus that was involved in an accident on Monday morning in St. Peter am Hart (Braunau district): A total of seven people were injured.

The accident happened around 6:45 a.m. A 41-year-old driver steered the bus, which was occupied by ten passengers, in the direction of the Braunau connecting road. When she crossed an intersection with the vehicle, there was a collision with a car driven by a 45-year-old woman from the Innviertel region. Their car then crashed into another car driven by a 55-year-old driver.

The bus driver and the 45-year-old suffered injuries as a result of the accident and had to be taken to the Braunau hospital after the first aid by the rescue service. Five passengers between the ages of 16 and 17 suffered only minor injuries. “We got off with a black eye,” says the Upper Austrian Transport Association, on whose behalf the Postbus company operates the line. The 55-year-old escaped unharmed. It is not yet clear why the collision happened.

All three vehicles involved were badly damaged. The scene of the accident had to be closed temporarily. Two fire brigades, ambulance and police were on duty.
