“You have to close the entrance to such a State in all the ports, all the channels and all the airports in the world,” he declared. Zelensky in a video posted on Facebook, in which he also called on the international community to “consider closing the sky completely to Russian missiles, planes and helicopters.”
“This evil, armed with missiles, bombs and artillery, must be stopped immediately. And economically destroyed, to show that humanity is capable of defending itself,” stressed the Ukrainian president.
Zelensky denounced the Russian bombardments that targeted Ukrainian territory on Monday, while two delegations – one Russian and one Ukrainian – met for the first time, in Belarus, since Thursday, when the invasion began.
“Those conversations took place with the bombing and shooting of our territory in the background. […]. The timing of the shots with the negotiation process was evident,” he stated.
“I think that in this simple way, Russia is trying to put pressure” on Kiev, Zelensky said. “Don’t waste your time,” he added, referring to the Russian government.
According to the Ukrainian president, his country “did not get the result it would have liked” in the first round of negotiations on Monday, but he mentioned his “counterproposals” to “end the war.”
The delegations agreed to hold a “second round” of negotiations.
