The US Army asked Hamas “to stop shooting at civilians”
“This is a historic opportunity for peace. “Hamas must take advantage of it by withdrawing completely, strictly adhering to President Trump’s 20-point peace plan and disarming without delay,” they said in a statement as cited by Europa Press.
This comes amid violence that broke out between members of Hamas and rival militias in several areas of Gaza. Among those affected in recent days was the journalist Salé Aljafarawi who was shot dead last Sunday while covering a series of protests in the city.
In turn, this Wednesday the United Nations Organization (UN) expressed his “concern” about the violations of rights and freedoms that Palestinian civilians would continue to suffer in the Gaza Strip despite the current ceasefire. They also recorded deaths in areas surrounding those with Israeli military presence.
Along these lines, he warned that both cases of attacks – Hamas and the Israeli Army – may constitute war crimes.
According to a report published today, the UN Human Rights Office noted that Hamas’ clashes with other factions “intensified,” even resulting in “extrajudicial executions.”
Hamas handed over four more bodies to Israel in the Gaza Strip
He Israeli Army (FDI) received this Tuesday another four coffins delivered by Hamas to the Red Cross. The remains correspond to hostages who died in the Gaza Strip during the war that began on October 7, 2023 and join the four from yesterday. They still have to return another 20.
The IDF will inspect the coffins before covering them with national flags. The remains will then be transferred for identification and to confirm whether they belong to murdered hostages, according to local media.
The army asked the press and the public act sensitively and wait for the official results, which will be communicated first to families. For its part, Hamas did not reveal the identity of the bodies delivered.
