“When people from Innviertel imagine something, they want it straight away.” No sooner said than done: a new transport hub costing 1.7 million euros was built in Weng in just ten weeks. The Hargassner company paid the majority of this sum. Because the bottleneck almost put a stop to the heating manufacturer’s expansion plans, entrepreneurs Markus and Anton Hargassner invested in a public road. The road closure was lifted yesterday and construction is complete.

1200 vehicles per day

Hargassner employs around 800 people in Weng. Due to training guests, visitors, events, the company’s own playroom and freight forwarding, the daily traffic volume is around 1,200 vehicles. In combination with the gas station opposite and the exploding traffic volume on the B148, the infrastructure is busy and often overloaded. This new traffic junction was converted to provide a better connection between the company headquarters and federal highway 142, which flows into the often overcrowded roundabout.
