Donald Trump sues The New York Times again for defamation

The president of USA, Donald Trumprefiled this Thursday a defamation lawsuit against The New York Times for US$15 billion, just a month after a similar action was dismissed by a judge.

Since his return to the White House, The Republican intensified his hostility towards the media through legal action and restricted access to their press conferences.

The reason would respond to “defamatory, false and malicious statements” against him, according to the text.

“This legal action concerns numerous defamatory, false and malicious statements about President Trump made by the people sued for two articles and a book,” said the text of the lawsuit, to which the AFP agency had access.

Last September, Florida federal judge Steven Merrydaydismissed a first lawsuit against The New York Times for its inappropriate style, praise of Trump and its excessive length of 85 pages. The magistrate gave 28 days to present it again.
