According to Shakhtar, the foreign players, including twelve Brazilians alone, and their families have arrived in Romania. The legionnaires of the competitor Dynamo Kyiv had also left the country. Three Brazilians from SK Dnipro-1 also traveled to Romania on Saturday.
Shakhtar thanked all the people and organizers involved in the evacuation of the professionals, including explicit UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, the head of the Ukrainian association Andriy Pavelko and Leonid Oleinichenko, head of the football association of the neighboring Republic of Moldova. Shakhtar has not been able to play its home games at home for several years because of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. The club would currently be ahead of champions Dynamo Kyiv and Dnipro. The league is interrupted because of the war.
Meanwhile, after fleeing Ukraine, Shakhtar pro Junior Moraes donated nearly €50,000 to the country. His club posted a picture with the transfer receipt on Instagram and thanked Moraes. Accordingly, the Brazilian, who also has Ukrainian citizenship, donated 1,675,000 hryvnia – the equivalent of around 49,000 euros. Moraes has played at Shakhtar since 2018.
