By illuminating their buildings with the colors of the Ukrainian flag, the cities show their solidarity with the people affected by the war. The AEC posted a video on Monday evening showing the museum building being bathed in blue and yellow light against the night sky. Previously, the message “Stop war!” (Stop the War) has been projected. The colors of Ukraine could also be seen on the other side of the Danube at the Linz Castle Museum.

vigil in the evening
The castle has been expressing its solidarity with its interior lighting since last weekend. 900 people also showed their dismay at the Russian invasion of Ukraine at a rally on Saturday. The association “Ukrainians in Linz and Upper Austria” had organized the peaceful event. “Only together can we resist Russian aggression and stop the war,” the call read. Ukrainians living in Linz asked the European states for support for their homeland.
There is a vigil at 6:30 p.m. this Tuesday Martin Luther Square in the city center planned. The solidarity action for the Ukrainian population takes place under the hashtag #YesWeCare.
