VKI extends collection campaign for ski season tickets 2019/2020

The background is the corona pandemic, in which numerous lifts were closed for months. “Owners of ski season tickets have a legal right to get their fee back from the lift operators for the period in which it is not possible to provide a service,” says the VKI. Although the courts had confirmed the VKI’s legal opinion on a pro rata refund of the ticket fee, a number of lift operators still refused to reimburse affected season ticket holders.

For free support from the VKI, registration is possible until April 30, 2022 at [www.verbraucherrecht.at/skisaisonkarten2019-2020] necessary.

Since November last year, the VKI – on behalf of the Ministry of Social Affairs – has been organizing a free collection campaign to enforce claims for ski season tickets from the Ski Amade Card, Superskicard Salzburg & Kitzbüheler Alpen, Topskipass Kärnten & Osttirol, Ostalpen Card, Snow Card Tirol and Freizeitticket Tyrol. “So far, more than 6,000 affected consumers have registered for the collection campaign,” according to the VKI.
