As in the previous year, this year’s International Model Building Fair in Ried was stormed. Thousands of visitors crowded the halls of the Rieder Messe at the weekend to immerse themselves in the world in miniature format – the majority came from Upper Austria, Salzburg and Bavaria. “What could be better – a new visitor record! Bright eyes among children and adults as well as good sales and therefore many satisfied exhibitors. The numerous participation stations and demonstrations by the clubs were once again stormed,” said trade fair director Helmut Slezak.
180 companies and clubs from six nations presented themselves. The largest exhibition in the German-speaking region in the area of plastic and cardboard model making was on display. In its own model railway hall, the trains made their rounds in sometimes elaborately designed landscapes. Model ships set sail in their own harbor basin. At air shows with remote-controlled models, professionals showed off their skills to the masses of spectators. The HELD parcel drone at the FACC trade fair stand illustrated the collaboration between industry and school. RC models handled fire and extinguishing missions.
