“I think we can be really satisfied, also with the performances. But we’ll stay down to earth and make sure we continue to collect points diligently,” says SV Oberbank Ried player Ante Bajic in the OÖN interview. The promoted team got off to a very good start to the season with 14 points from ten games. Next Sunday, Bajic’s former club Rapid Vienna is coming to the BWT Oberösterreichische Arena. The 30-year-old was under contract with Rapid from summer 2022 to December 2023 (45 competitive games, four goals). In January 2024 he returned to SV Ried, for whom he played from 2018 to 2022. The Altheim native has played 141 competitive games (39 goals, 41 assists) for Ried.
OÖN: You were at Rapid for a season and a half, now it’s your first time against your former club. Is this a special game for you?
Ante Bajic: Yes, this is definitely a special game. There are still some familiar faces. I’m looking forward to the game on Sunday even more.
If you look back in autumn 2025 at the approximately one and a half years at Rapid between summer 2022 and the end of 2023 in Vienna: What do you remember as positive and what perhaps less so?
In any case, everything surrounding this big club is positive. It was also interesting to see how everything works. I can safely say that I learned a lot during this time. I don’t have any negative memories of the time, it’s more that I saw what it’s like when things don’t go well. I definitely took that with me as an experience.
