Of course, the Japanese achieved their greatest success under the hood. The hybrid inventor is now extending the economical drive system into the smallest segment for the first time – a first among all small cars. That’s why Toyota speaks of “pioneering work” that was carried out here. Like back in 1997, when the Japanese introduced the sedan called Prius as the first hybrid version.
