Three girls robbed a 24-year-old in Vienna-Penzing on Friday night. The young man lost his cellphone and wallet and was taken to hospital, according to police, who arrested two of the three suspects shortly thereafter.
The trio approached the 24-year-old at around 11:30 p.m. and asked for his mobile phone. When he ignored the girls, a 15-year-old was said to be the only one who attacked him, punching him and putting him in a headlock. The young man would not have been drunk or otherwise impaired.
A witness saw what happened and informed the police. The 15-year-old and her accomplice, who was one year older, were caught nearby. The Austrians had not yet attracted the attention of the police and admitted to the robbery. The victim was discharged to home care after treatment at the hospital.
