“In the current crisis situation in Ukraine, fast, unbureaucratic help is necessary,” says Andreas Böck. The district chairman of the young generation in the SP organized a fundraising campaign on the Steyr town square: “It rustled a lot, didn’t jingle, there were almost only bills in the box.”
Within three hours, 3049.70 euros ended up in the donation box. The sum collected goes to Volkshilfe, which uses all donations one-to-one for immediate emergency aid in the Ukraine. “I am overwhelmed by the great willingness to help so many people,” says Vice Mayor Michael Schodermayr, chairman of the Volkshilfe Oberösterreich. In this crisis situation, it is imperative to show solidarity with the refugees and with the people of Ukraine. Many people have lost everything as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Help is needed immediately. As an experienced provider of emergency aid, Volkshilfe has been active in the Ukraine for 16 years.
