On April 12, 1992, Mickey Mouse and his entourage from the Walt Disney universe took up residence in the 51-hectare amusement park near Paris. Disneyland Paris will be celebrating its 30th birthday from March 6th with a number of new attractions. A new show was created, which is performed several times a day on the Central Plaza in front of the newly renovated Sleeping Beauty Castle. Consisting of three themes, it celebrates the magic of laughter, passion and dreams.
Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and friends will be dressed in shimmering costumes designed for the anniversary. Incidentally, since the park opened, more than 30,000 costumes have been made for all the characters, and Mickey and Minnie have around 450 costumes in their wardrobes. The mouse lady can currently look forward to a trouser suit that the British star designer Stella McCartney designed for her.
The Gardens of Wonder will be installed in front of the castle and robotic Disney and Pixar sculptures will come to life. Ten themed gardens enchant the way to Sleeping Beauty – in the Garden of Asia, for example, characters from “Mulan” and “Raya and the Last Dragon” cavort. If Disneyland Paris were a garden, it would be the largest in Europe – with 35,000 trees, 450,000 shrubs and more than a million flowers planted every year.
In the summer of the anniversary year, the “Avengers Campus” theme area will be opened with the superheroes from the Marvel universe. Attractions include an Iron Man-themed roller coaster experience and an interactive Spider-Man tour.
