Nothing new on the podium of the traditional Ennstal Cup ski race series: After the final with two giant slaloms on the Höss in Hinterstoder, Daniel Lumplecker received the trophy for the overall victory as the man on the highest step. Nothing new for the racer from the Trattenbach winter sports club, who beat Gregor Sulzer from the Losenstein sports club to second place with a lead of just two hundredths of a second. Lumplecker has now won the competition for the fourth time. Sulzer, who had returned to the Ennstal Cup from the FIS races, took the day’s win in the last of the four slalom runs, but was unable to overtake Lumplecker, who finished second, in the overall standings. Behind the two dominators of the competition, Lukas Lumplecker (WSV Trattenbach) and Benjamin Garstenauer (SV Losenstein), each in third place, also finished on the podium.
Corona and flu mixed up the overall ranking for the women. Denise Dietl from WSV Trattenbach was unable to defend her title because she had to stay in bed for three race dates due to illness. The three-time Ennstal Cup winner Marlies Kaiser from Naturfreunde Großraming was also prevented from two slalom runs due to illness – two second places were not enough after all title defense. Katharina Pleischl from the Losenstein sports club used her chance with top performances, which ultimately meant the overall victory of the Ennstal Cup.
