Control: fake driver’s license, none and drugs at the wheel

Monday around 3:30 p.m. a 32-year-old Englishman living in Wels was stopped in Hans-Sachs-Strasse, who identified himself with an obviously totally forged British driver’s license.

At around 9:50 p.m., a 21-year-old from Wels was stopped in Billrothstrasse because of his unsafe driving style. During the driver and vehicle check, clear signs of a drug impairment were found. The driver stated that he had smoked cannabis a few hours earlier. The examination in the hospital revealed that he was unfit to drive. The two-week-old, provisional probationary driver’s license was removed.

187 km/h instead of 70

At around 1.20 a.m., a 24-year-old Serbian citizen from Wels turned his car onto the B1, Wiener Straße, immediately before the civil patrol and accelerated his car extremely towards Marchtrenk. During the night drive, a speed of 187 km/h was measured by video measurement instead of the permitted 70 km/h. The driver ignored a first attempt to stop in Marchtrenk and continued his journey towards Linz, reports the police. However, after recognizing the hopelessness of his situation, he stopped at a gas station in Marchtrenk. It was established that the driver’s license had already been revoked and that he was clearly under the influence of alcohol. He refused the alcohol test despite repeated requests.

It was forbidden to continue driving and all three drivers will be reported to the authorities.
