Girls glued together at party: attack was invented

It was a curious story that made headlines in the local media at the end of February: At a party in the Innviertel, an unknown person is said to have glued a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old together with super glue. The man sprayed glue on the younger girl’s arm and then pressed it over her friend’s mouth, the girls told police. Although they were able to separate, the 19-year-old could no longer open her mouth, which is why she had to be treated in the hospital.

Only it turned out that the story the duo had told the police was fabricated. In addition, the girls themselves had written threatening letters that the host of the party was said to have written. This also turned out to be false after the accused’s alibi was checked. In fact, the girls had attempted to mimic a challenge on a social media platform. One of the girls applied acrylic glue for nails to the palm of her hand, and then both of them pressed their hand over the other’s mouth. The exact background of the dangerous online trend was not clear for the time being.

As a reason for simulating the actions, the two girls stated that they had panicked because of the serious health condition of the 19-year-old. The two boys had accused her purely arbitrarily, the police said. Both are reported to the public prosecutor’s office in Ried for bodily harm, coercion, pretense of an act threatened with punishment and defamation.
