The number of daily new corona infections in Upper Austria remained high yesterday: the virus was detected in 4922 people. A total of 27,047 PCR corona tests were evaluated in Upper Austria. The total number of active cases currently stands at 38,602 as of yesterday, up only slightly from the previous day.
The situation is similar with the number of Covid 19 patients in hospital treatment, the number has increased from 430 to 438. The number of occupied intensive care beds remained about the same at around 24. In both intensive care and general wards, around 50 percent of patients are not fully immunized, while 68.4 percent of the vaccinable population are fully immunized. In 4.1 percent, the vaccination protection has expired because the last vaccination was too long ago and no booster vaccination was administered.
The country reported 12 deaths related to Covid-19 yesterday, the youngest deceased was 62 years old.
