A passer-by alerted the police after seeing the man drifting in the water near a wooden bridge screaming for help and finally sinking. When officers arrived, it turned out that a woman had also fallen into the water. The 37-year-old from Linz held on to a branch on her back floating in the water, emergency services rescued her. The man’s body was not recovered until the following day. She had injuries that probably came from the rake of the Kleinmünchen power plant.
The 37-year-old was taken to the hospital and was temporarily in artificial deep sleep. In the meantime, the course of events has been reconstructed with the help of her statement. Since there is no indication of third-party fault, the ongoing investigations into unknown perpetrators have been discontinued, according to the public prosecutor’s office.
