Refugees from Ukraine: Help from Mühlviertler machine builder Engel

At the injection molding machine manufacturer Engel, headquartered in Schwertberg, several aid campaigns for the people affected by the war in Ukraine were launched within a very short time. As emergency aid, Engel Austria transferred 100,000 euros to Doctors Without Borders, Neighbors in Need and the Red Cross. “We are overwhelmed and proud of how naturally many employees get involved and how customers and partners support our initiatives,” says Stefan Engleder, CEO of the Engel Group.

There is a lot of personal commitment, especially in the Eastern European branches. There, employees take care of the refugees. In the production plant in Kaplice, Czech Republic, for example, Engel employs around 100 people from the Ukraine. Apartments have now been specially made available for their relatives. “We are doing what is currently possible to help people. We are a family business and also a worldwide, large Engel family. This is particularly noticeable at the moment,” says Stefan Engleder.

With nine production plants worldwide and more than 30 sales offices – including one in Kyiv – the Engel Group has an international presence. The concerns and sympathy of the employees are particularly aimed at all Ukrainians these days. At the same time, Engel also thinks of those people who take a personal risk in order to work for peace.
