Unmanned military plane crashed over Zagreb

This was confirmed by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Friday on the sidelines of the EU summit in Versailles. According to the police, no one was injured. Parked cars were damaged.

“According to the information available to us, it is a Russian-made aircraft,” Plenkovic told Croatian journalists. “We do not know whether it was in the possession of the Russian or Ukrainian army,” he added. The aircraft entered Croatian airspace via Romania and Hungary. “We also contacted the Ukrainian side to see if they have any information on how the plane reached Zagreb,” Plenkovic continued.

According to media reports, the crashed aircraft left behind a crater three meters wide and one meter deep at the crash site in Zagreb’s Jarun Park. The portal “index.hr” quoted the former head of civil defense of the city of Zagreb, Pavle Kalinic, who said that the object could have been a Soviet-type Tupolev M-141 long-range reconnaissance drone. This aircraft has a range of 1000 kilometers.
