The Ukrainian saxophonist Andrej Prosorow spontaneously jumps in today at the Styraburg Festival extended due to Luciano Biondini’s cancellation of the concert due to illness. He plays at 7.30 p.m. in the Schlosstonne in Steyr’s Lamberg Castle without paying the guests.
For the half-hour program by the internationally sought-after jazz musician, Hapé Schreiberhuber will read poems by Josef Weinheber, Bertolt Brecht, Stefan Zweig and Rainer Maria Rilke. Admission is free. Donations flow to Ukrainians in need of protection who have found refuge in Steyr.
Andrej Prosorow, born in Odessa, toured Europe with “Fatima Spar and the Freedom Fries” after studying at the Vienna Jazz Conservatory and is involved in projects of the Vienna jazz scene.
Prosorow is always a guest at the Styraburg Festival in Steyr and has already performed together with Hapé Schreiberhuber, the artistic director of the festival. Engagements have already taken the artist duo to Palermo, Vienna and Wels.

A week later, on Saturday, March 19, at 7 p.m., Schreiberhuber will be reading short stories alone at Susecco in Enge 24. Due to the limited number of seats, please register in advance at tickets@styraburg.com
